About Donkeys
Donkeys, scientifically known as Equus africanus asinus, are domesticated members of the horse family. They are known for their strong build, endurance, and distinctive long ears. Donkeys are social animals that can form strong bonds with other donkeys as well as with humans.
World Donkey Day
World Donkey Day is celebrated on 8 May each year. This day aims to raise awareness about the importance of donkeys in various cultures and their contributions to agriculture, transportation, and companionship. It also highlights the need to protect these animals from neglect and abuse.
Donkeys In the Wild
In the wild, donkeys typically inhabit arid and semi-arid regions. They are known to be tough animals that can survive in harsh conditions. Wild donkeys live in small herds, which provide them with social interaction and protection from predators. Their diet mainly consists of grasses, shrubs, and other vegetation.
