World Ocean Day

Oceans are at the heart of the survival of humans, animals, plants and every other living thing on our planet. World Ocean Day serves as a reminder that our waters are in deep trouble because of pollution, global warming and overfishing, throwing the delicate food web and precious ecosystem off balance. For the benefit of future generations, we must take World Ocean Day seriously and act now to protect the core of our world.

Ocean Day History

First suggested by Canada at the 1992 Earth Summit (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, World Ocean Day was created to help protect the world's oceans.
